Beading Wire: I use quality Accu-Flex beading wire for all projects. The flexible wire has a stainless steel core and a durable nylon coating.
Gold Filled: A heavy layer of 14 kt gold is bonded with a base metal, usually brass, resulting in high quality beads and findings.
Vermeil: Sterling silver beads and findings are overlaid with 24 kt gold, a bright finish on durable pieces.
Sterling Silver: I use this for most bead accents and
findings; it has a .925 silver content.
Fine Silver: Has a .99 silver content, and resists
tarnishing.
Copper: Most of the copper pieces I use have an anti-tarnish coating to limit the need for cleaning.
Gemstones: I use semi-precious gemstones of every color and shape. Most of the gemstones I use are naturally colored though some are permanently dyed.
Crystal: All of my crystal beads are quality
Swarovski components.
Glass: I like to use different types of glass beads including seed, Czech, lampwork, cat’s eye, cane and pressed glass.
Other Beads: I like to use a variety of other natural beads including shell, wood, bone, coral, horn, fossil and seeds.
Care: As with any fine jewelry, my creations should be treated with care. Rough use can result in cracked or broken beads. Never wear pieces in chlorinated water, and take care in wearing them through a shower. Also keep jewelry out of direct sunlight and away from high heat. Clean metals using a buffing cloth, but never use chemical dips or electrochemical baths as these are often harsh and can damage stones and pearls. The best way that I have discovered to clean my jewelry is to simply use an old toothbrush and either a bit of toothpaste (non-gel type) or baking soda, and gently clean the item in a circular motion. Take care not to scrub too hard. Rinse with warm water and your item will be sparkling clean.
